Ingredients

2 cups filtered water
1 cup fresh lemon balm leaves (or 1 tablespoon dried leaves)
1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger (optional)
Juice of half a lemon
1 teaspoon raw honey (optional)


Instructions

Step 1: Boil 2 cups of filtered water in a pot or kettle until it reaches a rolling boil.
Step 2: Add 1 cup of fresh lemon balm leaves (or 1 tablespoon of dried leaves) and 1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger (if using) to a heatproof teapot or infuser.
Step 3: Pour the hot water over the herbs. Cover the teapot with a lid and let the tea steep for 7-10 minutes to allow the flavors and beneficial compounds to infuse.
Step 4: Strain the tea into your favorite mug, removing the lemon balm leaves and ginger. You can discard the solids.
Step 5: Stir in the juice of half a lemon and 1 teaspoon of raw honey, if desired. Adjust sweetness and lemon flavor to your preference.
