Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups warm water (105°F)
1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
1 1/4 teaspoons sea salt
Extra flour for dusting
Instructions
Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, and salt. Whisk until the dry ingredients are thoroughly blended.
Step 2: Pour in the warm water and stir with a wooden spoon until a sticky, shaggy ball of dough forms. Ensure all dry flour is incorporated.
Step 3: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours until doubled in size and bubbly.
Step 4: Place a Dutch oven into the oven and preheat to 450°F (230°C). Allow at least 30 minutes for the pot to get extremely hot.
Step 5: Shape the dough on floured parchment paper into a round loaf. Let it rest for 30 minutes while the oven finishes preheating.
Step 6: Carefully place the dough and parchment into the preheated Dutch oven. Bake covered for 30 minutes.
Step 7: Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is dark golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
Notes
Ensure your yeast is fresh for the best rise. If using Active Dry yeast instead of Instant, bloom it in the warm water for 5 minutes before adding to the flour.
