Description
A rich and flavorful one-pot pasta dish featuring tender ground beef, aromatic garlic, and al dente pasta coated in a luxurious cream sauce, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
1 tbsp unsalted butter
1 lb ground beef
4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
12 oz penne pasta, uncooked
4 cups beef broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: In a large pot or Dutch oven, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until fully browned. Drain any excess fat.
Step 2: Add the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the pot. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 3: Stir in the uncooked penne pasta, beef broth, and heavy cream. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 12-15 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente and most of the liquid has been absorbed, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
Step 4: Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy.
Step 5: Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving hot.
Notes
For a bit of heat, add 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes with the garlic. You can also add a handful of fresh spinach during the last minute of cooking for extra greens.
