Description

Crispy, golden oven-baked dumplings served with a creamy, savory, and slightly spicy homemade peanut sauce – a healthier and easier alternative to pan-frying!

Ingredients

Scale

20-24 frozen or fresh dumplings (pork, chicken, vegetable)
1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking spray
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
3 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
2 cloves garlic, minced
1-2 teaspoons sriracha or chili garlic sauce (to taste)
2-4 tablespoons warm water (to thin sauce)
Optional garnishes: chopped green onions, sesame seeds, crushed peanuts

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Arrange the dumplings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle lightly with olive oil or spray with cooking spray, ensuring each dumpling is lightly coated.
Step 3: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and crispy. If using frozen dumplings, they may need an additional 5-10 minutes. Flip them halfway through for even crisping.
Step 4: While the dumplings are baking, prepare the peanut sauce. In a medium bowl, combine the peanut butter, soy sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sriracha.
Step 5: Whisk the sauce ingredients together until smooth. Gradually add warm water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the sauce reaches your desired consistency (should be pourable but still thick enough to cling to the dumplings).
Step 6: Once the dumplings are cooked, remove them from the oven. Serve immediately with the homemade peanut sauce for dipping or drizzling. Garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, or crushed peanuts, if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can brush the baked dumplings with a mix of sesame oil and a pinch of chili flakes after baking. The peanut sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days; simply thin with a little warm water if needed before serving.
