Description

A crispy and gooey bite-sized appetizer featuring a blend of mozzarella and salty Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

Scale

12 oz low-moisture mozzarella cheese, cubed
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dried oregano
Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

Step 1: Cut the mozzarella into 1-inch cubes.
Step 2: Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mix of breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, and oregano.
Step 3: Dredge cheese in flour, dip in egg, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture.
Step 4: Dip once more in egg and breadcrumbs for a secure double coating.
Step 5: Freeze the prepared bites for 30 minutes on a baking sheet.
Step 6: Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F.
Step 7: Fry in batches for 60-90 seconds until golden brown.
Step 8: Drain on a wire rack and serve warm.

Notes

Freezing before frying is critical to prevent the cheese from leaking out.
