Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups canned or fresh peaches, chopped
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 package refrigerated biscuit dough or pie crust
- Oil for frying (canola or vegetable)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a saucepan, cook peaches with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch until thick and bubbly. Let cool slightly.
- Roll out each biscuit or pie dough piece into a 4–5 inch circle.
- Spoon peach filling onto one half of each circle.
- Fold dough over filling and press edges with a fork to seal tightly.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F and fry pies in batches until golden brown on both sides.
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make glaze.
- Dip or drizzle warm pies with glaze and let set before serving.
Notes
Don’t overfill pies to prevent leaking during frying. Seal edges well using fork or egg wash. Drain fried pies on paper towels to keep crispy. For a lighter option, bake at 375°F for 15–20 minutes. Freeze unglazed pies for make-ahead convenience.
