Ingredients
2 1/4 tsp Active Dry Yeast (1 packet)
1 1/2 cups Warm Water (110°F)
3 1/2 to 4 cups Bread Flour or '00' Flour
2 tbsp Olive Oil
1 tbsp Sugar or Honey
1 1/2 tsp Salt
Cornmeal for dusting
Instructions
Step 1: In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
Step 2: Stir in olive oil and salt, then gradually add 3 cups of flour, stirring with a wooden spoon.
Step 3: Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes, adding remaining flour as needed, until smooth and elastic.
Step 4: Place dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 60-90 minutes or until doubled.
Step 5: Punch down dough, divide into two balls, and roll out onto a pizza stone or baking sheet dusted with cornmeal.
Step 6: Add toppings and bake at 475°F (245°C) for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
Notes
For the best flavor, let the dough rise in the refrigerator for 24 hours before using.
