Description

These Pumpkin Maple Donut Holes 2 are soft, spice-infused treats fried to golden perfection and dipped in a rich maple glaze.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
Vegetable oil for frying
1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
3 tablespoons pure maple syrup (for glaze)
1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)

Instructions

Step 1: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.
Step 2: In a separate medium bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, milk, egg, melted butter, and 1 tablespoon of maple syrup until smooth.
Step 3: Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix the pumpkin maple donut holes 2 batter.
Step 4: Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F.
Step 5: Using a small cookie scoop or two spoons, drop rounded tablespoons of dough into the hot oil. Fry 4-5 pumpkin maple donut holes 2 at a time.
Step 6: Fry for about 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally, until the pumpkin maple donut holes 2 are golden brown on all sides.
Step 7: Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Step 8: Whisk the powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons of maple syrup, and milk together in a small bowl to create the glaze.
Step 9: Dip the warm pumpkin maple donut holes 2 into the glaze, turning to coat, then place on a wire rack to set.

Notes

Ensure the oil stays at a consistent temperature for the best texture. If the dough is too sticky, chill it for 10 minutes before frying.
