Ingredients
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup salted butter softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar packed
1 large egg
1 tsp rose extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup rose chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2: Whisk the flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a medium bowl.
Step 3: Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until fluffy.
Step 4: Beat in the egg and rose extract until fully incorporated.
Step 5: Stir in the dry ingredients gradually, taking care not to overmix.
Step 6: Fold in the chocolate chips and optional rose chips.
Step 7: Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes.
Step 8: Cool on the pan for 5 minutes then move to a wire rack.
Notes
Ensure you use culinary-grade rose extract for the best flavor. Do not substitute with rose oil unless you adjust the quantity, as oil is extremely potent.
