Description
A stunning, crowd-pleasing salad featuring seven delicious layers of Tex-Mex flavors including seasoned beef, beans, and fresh veggies.
Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef
1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning
1 can (16 oz) refried beans
1 cup sour cream
1 cup guacamole
1 cup chunky salsa
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups shredded romaine lettuce
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
1/4 cup sliced black olives
1/4 cup chopped green onions
Instructions
Step 1: Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
Step 2: Stir in the taco seasoning and 1/4 cup of water. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened, then remove from heat to cool.
Step 3: In a large glass bowl or 9x13 dish, spread the refried beans in an even layer at the bottom.
Step 4: Add the seasoned ground beef as the second layer, followed by a layer of sour cream.
Step 5: Carefully spread the guacamole over the sour cream, followed by the salsa.
Step 6: Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the salsa layer.
Step 7: Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, black olives, and green onions. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
To keep the lettuce extra crisp, add it just before serving. You can also add crushed tortilla chips as a crunchier eighth layer!
