  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (for sauce)
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for shrimp)
  • 1 tsp Creole seasoning (for shrimp)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (for shrimp)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (for shrimp)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
  • Hot sauce for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion, green bell pepper, celery, and garlic; cook about 5 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, 1 tbsp Creole seasoning, dried thyme, dried oregano, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Simmer sauce 15-20 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. In a medium bowl, toss shrimp with 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp Creole seasoning, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp black pepper.
  6. Heat olive oil in separate skillet over medium-high heat.
  7. Cook shrimp 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through.
  8. Add cooked shrimp to Creole sauce and stir to combine.
  9. Optional: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with hot sauce.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious and spicy meal!

Notes

Ensure shrimp are pink and opaque before removing from heat. Use a sharp knife for dicing vegetables. Customize with smoked paprika or red pepper flakes for extra heat. Substitute chicken or andouille sausage if desired. Use low-sodium tomato sauce and reduce olive oil for a healthier version.
