Description
A rustic and hearty no-yeast bread made effortlessly in the slow cooker using only two simple ingredients.
Ingredients
3 cups self-rising flour
12 oz beer (1 bottle, your choice)
Instructions
Step 1: Line a 6-quart slow cooker with parchment paper for easy removal.
Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the self-rising flour and the beer.
Step 3: Stir the mixture until just combined and no dry flour remains; the dough will be thick and sticky.
Step 4: Transfer the dough into the slow cooker and smooth the top.
Step 5: Place a paper towel under the lid to catch moisture and cook on High for 1.5 to 2 hours.
Step 6: Remove the bread when a toothpick comes out clean and let it cool on a wire rack.
Notes
Using a darker beer like a stout will result in a richer, more complex flavor, while a lager keeps it light and neutral.
