  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 (16 oz) package egg noodles, cooked and drained
  • Optional add-ins: Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, frozen corn, black beans, diced tomatoes

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef with chopped onion and green bell pepper until meat is no longer pink and vegetables are tender. Drain excess fat.
  2. In a bowl, mix tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, yellow mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until combined.
  3. Add cooked beef and veggies to slow cooker. Pour sauce over and stir to combine.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 3–4 hours to meld flavors.
  5. About 30 minutes before serving, stir in cooked egg noodles and half the shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top, cover, and cook until cheese melts completely.
  7. Serve warm, optionally garnished with parsley or scallions.
