Ingredients
For the Champagne Cocktail:
1 tsp sugar
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1 oz brandy
4 oz chilled champagne
For the Sparkling Cranberry Cocktail:
1 oz vodka
1 oz cranberry juice
1/2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
3 oz chilled sparkling water
Instructions
Step 1: For the Champagne Cocktail, place the sugar cube (or loose sugar) into the bottom of a champagne flute.
Step 2: Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters over the sugar.
Step 3: Pour 1 oz of brandy into the flute.
Step 4: Top carefully with 4 oz of chilled champagne.
Step 5: Garnish with a lemon twist or orange peel, if desired. Serve immediately.
Step 6: For the Sparkling Cranberry Cocktail, combine 1 oz vodka, 1 oz cranberry juice, and 1/2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice in a glass with ice.
Step 7: Stir gently to combine.
Step 8: Top with 3 oz of chilled sparkling water.
Step 9: Garnish with fresh cranberries and a lime wedge, if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
Ensure all ingredients are well-chilled for the best taste. For a non-alcoholic option, replace champagne with sparkling cider and omit brandy for the first recipe. For the second, omit vodka and use extra sparkling water or soda.
