Description

An incredibly easy, no-bake Halloween treat featuring chocolate-dipped sandwich cookies with pretzel legs and candy eyes, perfect for kids and parties.

Ingredients

Scale

1 (14.3 oz) package chocolate sandwich cookies (about 36 cookies)
1 (16 oz) package melting chocolate wafers or chocolate chips
2 cups pretzel sticks, broken into 1-inch pieces
1 (0.88 oz) container candy googly eyes

Instructions

Step 1: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper. Set aside.
Step 2: Break the pretzel sticks into small pieces, approximately 1 inch long. You'll need about 8 pieces per cookie.
Step 3: Melt the chocolate. If using a microwave, place chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat on high in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until smooth and fully melted. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler.
Step 4: Dip each chocolate sandwich cookie into the melted chocolate, ensuring it's fully coated. Lift with a fork, allowing excess chocolate to drip off.
Step 5: Place the dipped cookie onto the prepared baking sheet. While the chocolate is still wet, carefully arrange 8 pretzel pieces around the sides of the cookie to form the spider legs (4 on each side).
Step 6: Immediately place two candy googly eyes onto the top of the cookie. Repeat with the remaining cookies.
Step 7: Once all spiders are assembled, refrigerate the baking sheet for at least 1 hour, or until the chocolate is completely set.

Notes

For a varied look, try using white chocolate dyed with food coloring. If your pretzel sticks are too thick, you can also use chow mein noodles for the legs, which give a slightly different texture and look. Ensure your chocolate is at the right temperature for dipping – not too hot to burn, not too cool to be clumpy.
