A vibrant and flavorful candy glaze made from melted Starburst candies, perfect for decorating cakes and cupcakes.
Ingredients
25 Starburst candies (single color)
1-2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 teaspoon light corn syrup (optional for shine)
1 drop gel food coloring (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Unwrap all Starburst candies and place them in a small microwave-safe glass bowl.
Step 2: Add 1 tablespoon of heavy cream to the candies.
Step 3: Microwave on medium power for 30 seconds, then stir with a silicone spatula.
Step 4: Continue heating in 15-second bursts, stirring between each, until the mixture is completely smooth.
Step 5: Stir in the corn syrup and food coloring if using.
Step 6: Allow the Starburst Drip to cool slightly until it reaches a lukewarm, slightly thickened consistency before applying to a chilled cake.
Notes
Ensure the cake is very cold before applying the drip to prevent it from running too fast.
