Description
This incredibly easy and flavorful recipe features tender chicken and savory mushrooms coated in a luscious, sweet, and sticky honey garlic glaze, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
2 chicken breasts, sliced thin
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp soy sauce
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Season chicken with salt and pepper on both sides.
Step 2: Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken and pan-fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Step 3: Reduce heat to medium, add 1 tbsp butter and the minced garlic to the same skillet. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
Step 4: Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and have released their moisture, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 5: Stir in the honey and soy sauce. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, tossing to coat everything thoroughly.
Step 6: Continue to simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring, until the sauce thickens and beautifully glazes and caramelizes the chicken and mushrooms. Serve immediately.
Notes
For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic. Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds before serving for added freshness and flavor.
