Description
A beautiful and flaky puff pastry treat filled with sweet cream cheese and fresh strawberries in a romantic heart shape.
Ingredients
1 package (17.3 oz) frozen puff pastry, thawed
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup strawberry preserves
1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
1 egg
1 tbsp water
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2: In a small bowl, mix softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until creamy.
Step 3: Cut heart shapes out of the puff pastry using a cookie cutter.
Step 4: Score a smaller heart inside each piece and prick the center with a fork.
Step 5: Place a spoonful of cream cheese and jam in the center of each pastry heart.
Step 6: Top with fresh strawberry slices and brush the edges with egg wash.
Step 7: Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and flaky.
Notes
Ensure the puff pastry is cold before cutting to maintain the heart shape integrity.
