A foolproof recipe for crispy, golden waffles topped with fresh, juicy strawberries and sweet maple syrup.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 3/4 cups whole milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your waffle iron to the desired setting and spray lightly with non-stick spray.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Step 3: In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
Step 4: Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined (don't overmix).
Step 5: Pour batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown and steam stops rising.
Step 6: Serve immediately topped with plenty of fresh strawberries and maple syrup.
Notes
For extra crispiness, replace 1/4 cup of flour with cornstarch. Ensure the iron is very hot before pouring.
