Description
A classic holiday side dish featuring fresh green beans tossed in rich garlic butter, perfect for any festive spread.
Ingredients
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup sliced almonds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Wash and trim the ends off the fresh green beans. If desired, cut them in half.
Step 2: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Step 3: Add the trimmed green beans to the skillet. Sauté for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beans are bright green and slightly tender-crisp.
Step 4: Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the green beans. Continue to sauté for another 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.
Step 5: Season with salt and black pepper, stirring to combine.
Step 6: Remove from heat. If using, stir in the sliced almonds just before serving. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For an extra touch, squeeze a little fresh lemon juice over the beans right before serving. You can also add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a subtle kick!
