Description

Delicious ham cheese sliders on sweet Hawaiian rolls, perfect for potlucks, tailgates, and holiday appetizers with a flavorful glaze and gooey cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls, whole slab
  • 12 slices chicken ham (or preferred ham variety)
  • 12 slices Swiss or cheddar cheese
  • 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Optional: 1 tsp poppy seeds
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley or sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Using a serrated knife, slice the entire slab of Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping the rolls intact; use kitchen twine or a ruler for even slicing.
  3. Place bottom half of rolls in a lightly greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Layer 12 slices of chicken ham evenly over bottom rolls.
  5. Layer 12 slices of Swiss or cheddar cheese over ham.
  6. Place top half of rolls over cheese layer.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, poppy seeds (if using), salt, and pepper until combined.
  8. Brush glaze generously over the top of the rolls, allowing excess to drip down the sides.
  9. Cover baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  10. Remove foil and bake an additional 5–7 minutes until tops are lightly golden and cheese is melted.
  11. Remove from oven and let sliders rest 5 minutes before slicing between roll seams.
  12. Garnish with chopped parsley or sesame seeds if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Use fresh Hawaiian rolls for best texture. Substitute ham varieties and cheese types to customize flavor. Glaze can be adjusted or varied with honey mustard or barbecue sauce. Sliders can be assembled ahead and refrigerated or frozen for convenience.
