Description

A classic buttery shortbread cookie with a charming heart-shaped jam center, perfect for Valentine's Day.


Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup raspberry or strawberry jam


Instructions

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2: Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Step 3: Mix in the egg yolk and vanilla extract.
Step 4: Stir in flour and salt until a dough forms.
Step 5: Roll tablespoon-sized portions into balls.
Step 6: Press two diagonal indentations to form a heart shape.
Step 7: Fill heart centers with a small amount of jam.
Step 8: Bake for 10-12 minutes and cool on a wire rack.
