Description
A delightful sandwich featuring crispy bacon, gooey melted cheese, and tangy dill pickles grilled to perfection on buttery bread.
Ingredients
4 slices thick-cut bacon
2 slices sturdy bread (sourdough or brioche recommended)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup thinly sliced dill pickles
2 slices Swiss cheese
2 slices sharp cheddar cheese
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until perfectly crispy. Remove bacon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
Step 2: Butter one side of each bread slice generously.
Step 3: Lay one slice of bread, butter-side down, in the same skillet (or a clean one) over medium-low heat. Place one slice of Swiss cheese on top.
Step 4: Layer with the crispy bacon, followed by the thinly sliced dill pickles.
Step 5: Top with one slice of cheddar cheese, then the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
Step 6: Grill for 3-5 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is thoroughly melted and gooey. Gently press down with a spatula occasionally to ensure even contact.
Step 7: Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve immediately.
Notes
For an extra kick, try adding a thin layer of spicy brown mustard or a dash of hot sauce to the inside of the bread before assembling.
