Description
A soft and chewy holiday cookie loaded with festive red, pink, and white M&M candies, perfect for Valentine's Day sharing.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs, room temperature
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 1/2 cups Valentine M&Ms (red, pink, and white)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2: In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and both sugars together until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
Step 3: Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla, mixing well until fully combined.
Step 4: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch.
Step 5: Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
Step 6: Fold in 1 cup of the M&Ms by hand. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30-60 minutes.
Step 7: Scoop 2-tablespoon balls of dough and place them on the prepared sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
Step 8: Remove from oven and press the remaining M&Ms onto the warm cookies. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Ensure you chill the dough to prevent the cookies from spreading too much. For an extra festive touch, use a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
