Description
Thick, bakery-style chocolate chip cookies adorned with festive sprinkles and chocolate hearts for Valentine's Day.
Ingredients
1 cup butter (cold and cut into cubes)
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cornstarch
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup mini chocolate chips
1/3 cup Valentine sprinkles
24 chocolate hearts (unwrapped)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 2: Cream cold butter and both sugars together in a stand mixer until combined.
Step 3: Beat in eggs one at a time until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Step 4: Whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to wet ingredients.
Step 5: Fold in mini chocolate chips and Valentine sprinkles by hand.
Step 6: Scoop 2-tablespoon portions onto baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
Step 7: Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden. Immediately press a chocolate heart into the center of each hot cookie.
Step 8: Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before moving to a wire rack.
Notes
Ensure the butter is cold to get the thickest texture. Do not overbake; the cookies should look soft in the center when removed.
