Description

A delightful and incredibly easy no-bake treat combining crispy chow mein noodles with sweet, melted white chocolate.

Ingredients

Scale

1 (11 oz) bag white chocolate chips (or white candy melts)
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (optional)
1 (5 oz) can crispy chow mein noodles
Optional toppings: sprinkles, chopped nuts, mini M&Ms

Instructions

Step 1: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper. Set aside.
Step 2: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips (and peanut butter, if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly after each, until the mixture is smooth and completely melted. Be careful not to overheat the chocolate, as it can seize.
Step 3: Add the crispy chow mein noodles to the melted white chocolate mixture. Gently fold with a spatula until all the noodles are evenly coated in the chocolate.
Step 4: Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. If using, immediately decorate with sprinkles, chopped nuts, or other desired toppings before the chocolate sets.
Step 5: Refrigerate the Ting-a-Lings for at least 30 minutes, or until they are firm and set. This step is crucial for achieving their signature crunch.
Step 6: Once firm, carefully remove the White Chocolate Ting-a-Lings from the parchment paper and store them in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator.

Notes

For best results, use good quality white chocolate chips or candy melts that melt smoothly. If your chocolate seems too thick, adding a teaspoon of vegetable shortening or coconut oil during melting can help achieve a smoother consistency. You can also toast the chow mein noodles lightly in a dry pan for a few minutes before mixing for a deeper flavor, just let them cool completely first.
