An unbelievably easy and moist cake made with just a box of cake mix, a can of fruit pie filling, and eggs.
Ingredients
1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix (or any flavor of choice)
1 can (21 oz) fruit pie filling (e.g., cherry, apple, peach, blueberry)
2 large eggs
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan, or spray with non-stick cooking spray.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, fruit pie filling, and eggs. Mix with a spatula or electric mixer on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are fine.
Step 3: Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out with a spatula.
Step 4: Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Baking time may vary slightly depending on your oven.
Step 5: Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 15-20 minutes before slicing and serving. Serve warm or at room temperature, perhaps with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Feel free to experiment with different cake mix and pie filling combinations! For a richer flavor, you can add a teaspoon of vanilla extract, though it's not strictly necessary for this recipe's simplicity.
