Ingredients
20 oz refrigerated cheese tortellini
1 lb lean ground beef
1 small yellow onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
24 oz marinara sauce
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp dried basil
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Step 2: Boil the tortellini in salted water for 2 minutes less than the package instructions, then drain.
Step 3: In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until cooked through. Drain grease.
Step 4: Stir in the garlic and seasonings, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 5: Add the marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes, then stir in the cooked tortellini.
Step 6: Pour the mixture into the baking dish and top with mozzarella and Parmesan.
Step 7: Bake for 20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Garnish with parsley before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, use a mixture of ground beef and spicy Italian sausage. Always grate your own cheese for the best melting results.
