Description

A hearty Italian-style dinner featuring tender pasta tubes stuffed with a savory beef and three-cheese blend, topped with marinara and melted mozzarella.

Ingredients

Scale

12 manicotti shells
1 pound lean ground beef
24 ounces marinara sauce
15 ounces ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 large egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Pre-heat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
Step 2: Cook manicotti shells in boiling water for about 7-8 minutes (until slightly underdone). Drain and rinse with cold water.
Step 3: Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain fat and stir in garlic and Italian seasoning.
Step 4: In a bowl, mix ricotta, 1 cup of mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, and the cooked beef.
Step 5: Stuff the meat and cheese mixture into the cooked shells using a spoon or piping bag.
Step 6: Spread half the marinara in the pan, arrange the shells, and top with remaining sauce and mozzarella.
Step 7: Bake covered for 20 minutes, then uncovered for 10-15 minutes until golden and bubbling.

Notes

Use a piping bag to fill the shells easily without breaking the pasta tubes.
