Ingredients
1 pound ground breakfast sausage
1 package (16 ounces) frozen shredded hashbrowns
1 can (16.3 ounces) large flaky biscuits
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
6 large eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Step 2: Cook the ground sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 3: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Step 4: Cut the biscuits into bite-sized pieces and place them in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Step 5: Layer the cooked sausage on top of the biscuits, followed by the hashbrowns and shredded cheddar cheese.
Step 6: Pour the egg mixture over the layers in the baking dish.
Step 7: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the casserole is set and the top is golden brown.
Step 8: Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sausage or a sprinkle of fresh chives before serving. You can also brown the hashbrowns slightly before adding them for a crispier texture.
