Description
A stunningly beautiful and rich white hot chocolate infused with a vibrant blue hue, perfect for adding a touch of magic to any cold day or festive occasion.
Ingredients
3 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1/2 cup heavy cream (or full-fat coconut milk for dairy-free)
1 cup white chocolate chips (good quality)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-2 drops blue gel food coloring (or 1 tsp butterfly pea flower powder for natural color)
Instructions
Step 1: In a medium saucepan, combine the milk and heavy cream over medium heat. Stir frequently to prevent scorching, heating until steaming but not boiling.
Step 2: Reduce heat to low and add the white chocolate chips. Stir continuously until the white chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy. Do not let it boil.
Step 3: Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Add 1-2 drops of blue gel food coloring, stirring well until the desired vibrant blue color is achieved. Add more drops sparingly if a deeper color is desired.
Step 4: Pour the blue velvet white hot chocolate into mugs. Garnish generously with whipped cream, blue and white sprinkles, mini marshmallows, or white chocolate shavings. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For a truly magical presentation, don't skimp on the garnishes! Consider using blue and white sprinkles, edible glitter, mini marshmallows, or crushed candy canes. To make it dairy-free/vegan, use a non-dairy milk (like oat or cashew milk), full-fat canned coconut cream instead of heavy cream, and ensure your white chocolate chips are dairy-free. Butterfly pea flower powder offers a natural blue hue.
