Description

Fluffy yeast rolls filled with a rich cream cheese mixture and fresh blueberries, topped with a zesty lemon glaze.

Ingredients

Scale

4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 packet active dry yeast
1 cup warm whole milk (110°F)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar (for filling)
1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
2 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

Step 1: Combine warm milk, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and yeast in a mixer bowl; let stand for 10 minutes until foamy.
Step 2: Add remaining sugar, melted butter, egg, salt, and flour; knead with a dough hook for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
Step 3: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Step 4: Mix softened cream cheese, 1/4 cup powdered sugar, and lemon zest in a bowl until smooth.
Step 5: Roll dough into a large rectangle (approx 12x18 inches) on a floured surface.
Step 6: Spread cream cheese filling over the dough and sprinkle with fresh blueberries.
Step 7: Roll the dough up tightly and cut into 12 even rolls using a serrated knife or dental floss.
Step 8: Place rolls in a greased 9x13 baking dish, cover, and let rise for 45 minutes.
Step 9: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden. Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

Ensure the cream cheese is fully at room temperature for easy spreading. You can also add a pinch of cinnamon to the dough for extra warmth.
