Description

Master the art of preparing intensely flavorful and spicy Buldak Fire Noodles at home, complete with creamy cheese and a rich egg to balance the heat. This recipe transforms instant ramen into a gourmet experience.

Ingredients

Scale

1 packet Buldak Fire Noodles (Original, 2x Spicy, or Carbonara)
2-3 cups water (for boiling noodles)
1-2 slices cheese (mozzarella, American, or string cheese)
1 large egg (fried or soft-boiled)
Optional garnishes: chopped scallions, a drizzle of sesame oil, extra toasted sesame seeds, kimchi

Instructions

Step 1: Bring 2-3 cups of water to a rolling boil in a medium pot. Add the Buldak Fire Noodles block and cook for 3-4 minutes until just tender.
Step 2: While noodles cook, prepare your desired egg (fry or soft-boil) and slice cheese if needed.
Step 3: Drain the noodles, reserving 6-8 tablespoons (about 1/4 to 1/3 cup) of the starchy noodle water.
Step 4: Return the drained noodles to the pot. Add the reserved noodle water and the entire liquid sauce packet from the Buldak Fire Noodles. (Adjust sauce quantity to your spice preference).
Step 5: Place the pot over medium-low heat. Stir the noodles vigorously for 1-2 minutes until the sauce emulsifies, thickens, and coats all the noodles evenly.
Step 6: Immediately add the cheese slices on top of the hot noodles. Cover the pot for 1 minute to allow the cheese to melt into a gooey layer.
Step 7: Transfer the Buldak Fire Noodles to a serving bowl. Top with the prepared egg, sprinkle with the dried topping packet, and add any optional garnishes like scallions or sesame oil. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Adjust the amount of Buldak sauce to your personal spice tolerance. Adding milk or cream with the reserved noodle water can further reduce the heat and increase creaminess. Fresh vegetables like bok choy or spinach can be wilted in the hot noodles for added nutrition. Don't forget a cooling drink like milk or a sweet beverage to combat the spice!
