Description

Discover the incredibly easy and addictive recipe for 3 Ingredient Butter Toffee Pretzels. Made with just pretzels, butter, and brown sugar, these sweet and salty crunchy treats are perfect for any occasion and come together in minutes. A simple, crowd-pleasing snack!

Ingredients

Scale

1 (10-12 ounce) bag mini pretzels
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 cup light brown sugar, packed

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Step 2: Spread the pretzels evenly in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 3: In a medium saucepan, combine the unsalted butter and light brown sugar. Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter is completely melted and the sugar has dissolved. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
Step 4: Once boiling, continue to cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring constantly. The mixture will thicken slightly and turn a beautiful amber color. Be careful not to burn it.
Step 5: Immediately and carefully pour the hot butter toffee mixture evenly over the pretzels on the baking sheet. Use a spatula to gently spread and coat as many pretzels as possible.
Step 6: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 5 minutes.
Step 7: After 5 minutes, remove the baking sheet from the oven and carefully stir the pretzels to redistribute the toffee coating. Return to the oven and bake for another 5 minutes.
Step 8: Remove from the oven and stir the pretzels once more. Let them cool completely on the baking sheet. As they cool, the toffee will harden and become wonderfully crisp. This can take 30-60 minutes, or you can speed it up in the fridge for 15-20 minutes.
Step 9: Once completely cool and hardened, break the pretzels apart into individual pieces. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

For best results, use mini pretzel twists. Ensure your baking sheet is generously lined with parchment paper for easy removal. While cooling, you can break the pretzels apart gently before they fully harden for easier portioning. Store in an airtight container for up to a week. For extra flavor, you can sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt after baking, or drizzle with melted chocolate once cooled.
