Description
Crispy egg rolls filled with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and classic burger flavors, perfect for a fun appetizer or meal. This cheeseburger egg rolls recipe is a delightful fusion everyone will love.
Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 medium yellow onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt (or to taste)
1/2 tsp black pepper (or to taste)
1/2 tsp paprika
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or American/Monterey Jack)
16 egg roll wrappers
2-3 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
Optional: Ketchup, mustard, or special sauce for dipping
Instructions
Step 1: Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Break it up with a spoon as it cooks. Once fully cooked, drain off any excess grease thoroughly.
Step 2: Return the beef to the pan. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened and fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
Step 3: Stir in the salt, black pepper, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well to combine all seasonings evenly with the beef. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly (about 5-10 minutes).
Step 4: Once the beef mixture has cooled slightly, stir in the shredded cheese until just combined. Do not cook further; the residual heat will help the cheese soften.
Step 5: Lay an egg roll wrapper flat on a clean, dry surface, with one corner pointing towards you. Place about 2-3 tablespoons of the cheeseburger filling just below the center of the wrapper.
Step 6: Fold the bottom corner up over the filling, tucking it in tightly. Then, fold in the left and right corners towards the center, creating an envelope shape.
Step 7: Starting from the bottom, roll the wrapper tightly upwards towards the top corner. Before sealing, moisten the top corner with a little water using your finger to act as a glue. Finish rolling, pressing firmly to seal. Repeat with the remaining filling and wrappers.
Step 8: Heat 2-3 inches of vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Use a cooking thermometer to monitor the temperature.
Step 9: Carefully place 2-3 egg rolls into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 3-5 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides.
Step 10: Remove the cheeseburger egg rolls with tongs or a slotted spoon and place them on a wire rack set over a paper towel-lined baking sheet to drain any excess oil. Serve immediately with your preferred dipping sauces and enjoy your cheeseburger egg rolls recipe!
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding a dash of smoked paprika or a pinch of garlic powder to the beef mixture. Don't overcrowd the pan when frying to ensure even browning and crispy results. These cheeseburger egg rolls are best served fresh.
