Description
This comforting dish features al dente spaghetti tossed with savory ground beef and a rich garlic butter sauce, finished with Parmesan and fresh herbs.
Ingredients
1 lb spaghetti
1 lb lean ground beef
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 cup unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for sauce)
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil (for serving)
Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)
Red pepper flakes (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
Step 2: In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spoon until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat. Season the cooked beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, stirring thoroughly.
Step 3: Reduce heat to medium-low. Add the unsalted butter to the skillet with the beef. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
Step 4: Stir in the 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese and the chopped fresh parsley into the garlic butter mixture. Mix until the cheese is melted and combined.
Step 5: Add the cooked spaghetti and the seasoned ground beef back into the skillet with the garlic butter sauce. Toss vigorously to ensure all the pasta and beef are evenly coated with the rich sauce.
Step 6: Transfer the spaghetti to individual serving bowls. Garnish generously with the remaining 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh basil. For an optional touch, add a few fresh basil leaves and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For an extra layer of flavor, try adding a splash of dry white wine to the beef after draining the fat, letting it reduce before adding the butter and garlic.
