2 (8 oz) blocks cream cheese, softened
1 cup granulated sugar, divided
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon, divided
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Step 2: Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, stretching to cover the entire bottom. Pinch any seams together firmly.
Step 3: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with 3/4 cup granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon until smooth and creamy.
Step 4: Carefully spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent roll dough in the baking dish.
Step 5: Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and gently place it over the cream cheese layer. Pinch any seams together.
Step 6: In a small bowl, combine the remaining 1/4 cup granulated sugar with the remaining 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the top layer of crescent dough.
Step 7: Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheesecake filling is set.
Step 8: Remove from the oven and let cool completely on a wire rack.
Step 9: Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until thoroughly chilled and firm.
Step 10: Slice into squares or bars and serve. Enjoy one of your new favorite Mexican dessert recipes!
Notes
Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for a smooth filling. Chilling the bars completely is essential for clean slices and optimal texture. These bars are fantastic served with a drizzle of warm dulce de leche or chocolate sauce. They are truly one of the best easy Mexican dessert recipes!
