Description

Indulge in the comforting flavors of a classic cinnamon roll with these easy-to-make, healthy overnight oats. Perfect for a quick, grab-and-go breakfast that feels like a decadent treat!

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 tablespoon brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (divided)
3/4 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Instructions

Step 1: In a mason jar or airtight container, combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, brown sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Stir well to combine.
Step 2: Pour in the milk and vanilla extract. Stir thoroughly, ensuring all oats are submerged.
Step 3: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
Step 4: While the oats chill (or the next morning), prepare the cream cheese swirl. In a small bowl, whisk together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, the remaining 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and a splash of milk until smooth and creamy. Add more milk if needed for desired consistency.
Step 5: Once the oats have chilled and thickened, give them a good stir. Add a touch more milk if too thick.
Step 6: Spoon the cream cheese swirl on top of the oats. Gently swirl it in with a knife or spoon for a classic cinnamon roll appearance.
Step 7: Serve cold, optionally garnished with extra cinnamon or chopped nuts. Enjoy your delicious cinnamon roll overnight oats!

Notes

For an extra boost of flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the oat mixture. If you prefer a richer cream cheese swirl, use full-fat cream cheese. You can also toast a few pecans or walnuts to sprinkle on top just before serving for added crunch and flavor to your cinnamon roll overnight oats.
