Description

Indulge in these ultimate comfort food bombs, featuring a crusty Italian bread stuffed with a creamy, cheesy, garlicky shrimp filling.

Ingredients

Scale

1 loaf crusty Italian bread
¼ cup butter, melted
1 pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 cup cream cheese, softened
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
4 cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Chop the peeled and deveined shrimp into small, bite-sized pieces.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped shrimp with softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, fresh chopped parsley, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
Step 3: If desired, add a pinch of red pepper flakes for extra heat.
Step 4: Stir everything together until all ingredients are well combined and the mixture is thick and creamy.
Step 5: Carefully slice your crusty Italian loaf in half lengthwise.
Step 6: Gently hollow out each half of the bread, leaving about a half-inch border of crust.
Step 7: Evenly spoon the prepared shrimp mixture into both hollowed-out bread halves. Gently press it down with a spatula.
Step 8: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Step 9: Brush the outside of each bread half with the melted butter.
Step 10: Carefully wrap each filled bread half in aluminum foil. Place them on a baking sheet.
Step 11: Bake for 15 minutes with the foil on.
Step 12: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbling.
Step 13: Once out of the oven, let the bread bombs cool for about 5 minutes before slicing.
Step 14: Slice each half into thick, individual portions and serve warm, garnished with extra parsley if desired.

Notes

For best results, use freshly grated cheeses and ensure your shrimp is well-drained. Leftovers reheat beautifully in the oven.
