Description

Two show-stopping appetizers – a warm, gooey baked brie with festive cranberry and crunchy pecans, and savory prosciutto-wrapped asparagus – perfect for any elegant occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

1 wheel (8 oz) Brie cheese
1/4 cup cranberry sauce
1/4 cup chopped pecans
16 spears asparagus, trimmed
8 slices prosciutto, cut in half lengthwise
1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the wheel of Brie cheese in a small oven-safe dish or on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Step 2: Spoon the cranberry sauce evenly over the top of the Brie. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the cranberry sauce.
Step 3: Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the Brie is visibly softened and gooey in the center.
Step 4: While Brie bakes, preheat a separate oven to 400°F (200°C) for asparagus. Wash and trim the woody ends off the asparagus spears. Drizzle them lightly with olive oil.
Step 5: Take each half-slice of prosciutto and wrap it tightly around 2-3 asparagus spears. Repeat until all asparagus is wrapped.
Step 6: Place the wrapped asparagus bundles on a baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the asparagus is tender-crisp and the prosciutto is slightly crispy.
Step 7: Carefully remove both dishes from the oven. Serve the Cranberry Pecan Baked Brie immediately with crackers, baguette slices, or apple wedges. Serve the Prosciutto Asparagus warm.

Notes

For best results, use a good quality Brie and thinly sliced prosciutto. The baked brie is best served warm, while the asparagus can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature. Consider adding a sprig of fresh rosemary to the brie for an aromatic touch.
