Description
A quick and easy Southern-inspired dessert featuring sweet peaches wrapped in crescent dough and baked in a buttery cinnamon syrup.
Ingredients
2 (8 oz) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
2 large fresh peaches, peeled and cut into 8 wedges each
1 cup unsalted butter
1.5 cups granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground cinnamon
12 oz citrus soda (Mountain Dew or Sprite)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
Step 2: Wrap each peach wedge in a crescent roll triangle, starting from the wide end.
Step 3: Place the dumplings in the baking pan in two rows.
Step 4: Melt butter in a saucepan, stir in sugar and vanilla until combined.
Step 5: Pour the butter mixture over the dumplings.
Step 6: Pour the soda around the dumplings, not over the top.
Step 7: Sprinkle ground cinnamon over everything.
Step 8: Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
Notes
For extra crunch, sprinkle 1/2 cup of chopped pecans over the dumplings before baking.
