Description

These Doritos Pizza Rolls combine flaky crescent dough, savory pizza sauce and pepperoni, melty mozzarella, and a crunchy, flavorful Doritos crust for an irresistible snack.


Ingredients

1 (8 oz) can crescent roll dough
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup mini pepperoni or chopped regular pepperoni
1/4 cup finely diced yellow onion
1/4 cup finely diced bell pepper (any color)
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 (9.25 oz) bag Nacho Cheese Doritos, finely crushed


Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Set aside.
Step 2: In a small skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely diced onion and bell pepper and sauté for 3-5 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Step 3: In a medium bowl, combine the pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, mini pepperoni, and the sautéed onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Mix well to combine all ingredients evenly.
Step 4: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto the prepared baking sheet. If using perforated crescent dough, gently press the seams together to form a solid rectangle. Spread the pizza sauce and filling mixture evenly over the entire surface of the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Step 5: Starting from one long side, carefully and tightly roll up the crescent dough into a log. Use a sharp knife to slice the log into 12-16 individual rolls, each about 1 to 1.5 inches thick.
Step 6: Place the finely crushed Doritos into a shallow bowl or plate. Take each pizza roll and gently press all sides into the Doritos crumbs, ensuring it's completely coated. Arrange the coated rolls a few inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 7: Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted. The Doritos coating should be crispy.
Step 8: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce or ranch for dipping.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the filling. You can also experiment with different Doritos flavors like Cool Ranch or Spicy Sweet Chili for a unique twist!
