Ingredients
4 ripe bananas, sliced
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp lemon juice
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F and melt the butter in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Step 2: Toss sliced bananas with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
Step 3: Beat softened cream cheese with 1/3 cup sugar and vanilla until smooth.
Step 4: Whisk flour, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk to form a batter.
Step 5: Pour batter over the melted butter in the baking dish; do not stir.
Step 6: Arrange bananas over the batter and dollop the cream cheese mixture on top, swirling gently with a knife.
Step 7: Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and set.
Notes
Ensure cream cheese is very soft to prevent lumps in the filling.
