Description
An incredibly easy and flavorful garlic pizza sauce, made with simple ingredients like butter, fresh garlic, and Italian herbs, perfect for elevating any homemade pizza.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Melt the butter in a small saucepan or skillet over medium-low heat.
Step 2: Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic; it should just be lightly golden.
Step 3: Stir in the dried oregano, dried basil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for another 30 seconds to allow the herbs to bloom and release their aromas.
Step 4: Remove from heat and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Step 5: Use immediately on your pizza dough or store for later. Enjoy!
Notes
For an even creamier sauce, stir in 1-2 tablespoons of heavy cream at the end. A sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese can also be added for extra flavor. Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
