Description

A simple and delicious 10-step recipe for making nostalgic strawberry toaster pastries using pre-made pie crust.

Ingredients

Scale

2 boxes of premade pie crust
1/2 cup strawberry jelly
1 large egg
1/2 cup frosting
2 tablespoons sprinkles

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Cut each pie crust into rectangles of equal size.
Step 3: Place 8 rectangles on the cookie sheet and spread 1 teaspoon of jelly on each, leaving a border.
Step 4: Place the remaining 8 rectangles on top of the jelly-covered ones.
Step 5: Use a fork to crimp the edges together and seal the pastries.
Step 6: Poke a few holes in the top of each pop-tart with a toothpick.
Step 7: Brush the tops with a beaten egg wash.
Step 8: Bake for 7-8 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 9: Cool the pop-tarts on a wire rack.
Step 10: Once cool, add frosting and sprinkles before serving.

Notes

Ensure the pie crust is cold for maximum flakiness. Do not overfill with jam to prevent leaking.
