1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cooking spray or additional oil for greasing waffle iron


Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions. Lightly grease the plates with cooking spray or a brush of oil.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk well to ensure even distribution.
Step 3: In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: eggs, water (or plant-based milk), vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Whisk until fully combined.
Step 4: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix with a whisk or rubber spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are fine.
Step 5: Pour approximately 1/2 to 3/4 cup of batter (depending on your waffle iron size) onto the center of the hot waffle iron. Close the lid gently.
Step 6: Cook for 4-6 minutes, or until the steam subsides and the waffles are golden brown and crispy. Avoid lifting the lid too early.
Step 7: Carefully remove the cooked waffle from the iron with a fork or tongs. Repeat with the remaining batter, re-greasing the iron if needed.
