Description

Indulge your sweet tooth safely with this quick and delicious edible cookie dough recipe. Made without raw eggs or flour, it's perfect for snacking, desserts, or any time a craving strikes!

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons milk (whole milk recommended)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (or your favorite mix-ins)

Instructions

Step 1: Heat treat your all-purpose flour using either the microwave or oven method described above. Let it cool completely to room temperature before proceeding. This step is non-negotiable for a safe edible cookie dough.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar. Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat them together until the mixture is light, fluffy, and pale in color (about 2-3 minutes). Scrape down the sides of the bowl occasionally.
Step 3: Pour in the milk and pure vanilla extract. Beat on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
Step 4: Gradually add the cooled, heat-treated flour and salt to the wet ingredients. Mix on low speed until just combined and no streaks of flour remain. Avoid overmixing.
Step 5: Using a rubber spatula, gently fold in your favorite chocolate chips (or any other mix-ins!). Distribute them evenly throughout the dough.
Step 6: Your edible cookie dough is now ready! Serve immediately or refrigerate for 30 minutes for a firmer texture. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

For best results, ensure your flour is thoroughly heat-treated and cooled completely. Adjust milk quantity slightly to achieve your desired consistency. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week, or freeze for longer storage.
