Description
A magical, all-natural color-changing lemonade that transforms from blue to purple using butterfly pea flowers.
Ingredients
2 cups hot water
1 tablespoon dried butterfly pea flowers
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water (for syrup)
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
4 cups ice cubes
Optional: Edible glitter or mint for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Steep the dried butterfly pea flowers in 2 cups of hot water for 10 minutes to create a deep blue base.
Step 2: In a saucepan, heat 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water, stirring until dissolved to make simple syrup.
Step 3: Strain the blue tea into a pitcher and mix in the simple syrup; let the mixture cool completely.
Step 4: Fill glasses with ice and pour the blue tea mixture until each glass is 3/4 full.
Step 5: Pour 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice into each glass and watch the Enchanted Unicorn Lemonade turn purple!
Step 6: Stir gently and garnish with mint or a lemon wheel before serving.
Notes
Ensure the simple syrup is fully cooled before mixing with the blue tea to maintain the most vivid color.
