Description

This vibrant Sparkling Summer Berry Gin Spritzer is the ultimate refreshing cocktail for warm weather. Bursting with fresh berry flavors, a hint of lime, aromatic mint, and a delightful gin kick, topped with bubbly Prosecco, it's one of the quintessential summer cocktail recipes you need in your repertoire. Easily adaptable for a delicious mocktail!

Ingredients

Scale

1/4 - 1/2 cup mixed fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)
1/2 oz (1 tbsp) simple syrup (adjust to taste)
1/4 oz (1/2 tbsp) fresh lime juice (optional, for extra tang)
1.5 oz gin (optional, omit for mocktail)
4-5 oz chilled sparkling wine or Prosecco
Fresh mint or basil sprig, for garnish
Extra whole berries, for garnish
Ice

Instructions

Step 1: In a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker, add the mixed fresh berries, simple syrup, and fresh lime juice (if using).
Step 2: Gently muddle the berries and syrup until the berries are lightly crushed and their juices are released. Be careful not to over-muddle.
Step 3: If making an alcoholic spritzer, add the gin to the muddled berry mixture.
Step 4: Fill your serving glass (such as a wine glass or highball) about two-thirds full with ice.
Step 5: Pour the muddled berry mixture over the ice in the glass.
Step 6: Top the glass with chilled sparkling wine or Prosecco (or sparkling water/lemon-lime soda for a mocktail).
Step 7: Gently stir with a long spoon to combine the ingredients, being careful not to lose too much fizz.
Step 8: Garnish with a few fresh whole berries and a gently clapped sprig of fresh mint or basil to release its aroma. Serve immediately and enjoy one of the best summer cocktail recipes!

Notes

For best results, use fresh, in-season berries. Adjust the amount of simple syrup based on the sweetness of your fruit. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute sparkling water or lemon-lime soda for gin and sparkling wine.
