Description
Fudgy, vibrant green chocolate brownies topped with a thick, silky smooth cream cheese frosting.
Ingredients
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup unsalted butter
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 oz green liquid food coloring
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp salt
8 oz cream cheese, softened
3 Tbsp butter, softened
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
1/8 tsp salt (for frosting)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9-inch square baking pan with foil, extending over the edges, and lightly grease.
Step 2: Melt chocolate chips and butter together in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals until smooth. Let cool slightly.
Step 3: Whisk in sugar, then add eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition. Stir in flour, food coloring, baking powder, vanilla, and salt until combined.
Step 4: Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 44–48 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with moist crumbs.
Step 5: Cool brownies completely in the pan on a wire rack for about 2 hours before frosting.
Step 6: In a bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and salt. Mix in vanilla until fluffy.
Step 7: Lift brownies from pan, peel off foil, and spread frosting evenly. Cut into 16 squares.
Notes
Use gel food coloring for a more vibrant green without thinning the batter. Ensure brownies are completely cool before frosting to prevent melting.
